GATR Teams with Global DIRT and Cisco Systems to Provides Satellite Communication Assistance in Hurricane Sandy Recovery Efforts

Huntsville, Alabama, December 3 – GATR Technologies® announced today that it has teamed with Global DIRT and Cisco Systems Tactical Operations to supplying communication support for the recovery efforts in the Rockaways/Belle Harbor, NY. Through the use of two of GATR’s 2.4 meter inflatable satellite antenna systems connected to Cisco’s Emergency Communications Kit enabled the use of 250 wireless connections, a bank of laptops supplied by Global DIRT, and Phones for Sandy victims to gain access to emergency registration of residents, file request for FEMA assistance, and in general attempting to get the community to basic communication normalcy.

Two shelters, one at St. Frances de Sales Parish, and one at a beach parking lot at 95th Street and Rockaway Beach Road each providing hot food, clothing donations, medical care, warming tents where laptop and phone services can be accessed and much more. About the GATR Antenna System

The GATR Antenna System is a deployable inflatable satellite communication terminal serving the military, public safety and broadcast sectors. GATR’s unique inflatable design enables deployment of a 1.8, and 2.4 meter terminals in as few as two airline checkable cases, simplifying transportation and set-up, and making it ideal for first-in deployments, remote applications and contingency scenarios. The patented design combines the transmission power advantages of a large aperture / high-bandwidth antenna with the low weight and portability of a much smaller antenna.

About GATR Technologies

Incorporated in 2004, GATR Technologies develops and manufactures the inflatable satellite communications terminal.
