GATR Provides Communication Assistance to Aid in Haiti’s Recovery Efforts Print E-mail

Huntsville, Alabama, January 19, 2010 – GATR Technologies® announced today that it is supplying communication support for the recovery efforts in Haiti through the use of GATR’s inflatable antenna systems and support personnel.

GATR’s antenna systems have been deployed by several organizations to set-up high-bandwidth satellite communications in the wake of the recent disastrous earthquake.  GATR Technologies is also sending its own personnel to assist in establishing these communication links. One such effort is GATR employee David Hoffman, who has set-up and established a link near the Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) hanger supporting InSTEDD’s search and rescue base at the Port au Prince airfield in Haiti, with bandwidth donated by GATR for emergency information systems. Another GATR employee, Caleb Pal, will be departing this week to the Dominican Republic with two antennas to support a doctors group as part of the Chandasha Foundation with bandwidth donated by INTELSAT General, and to further the communication links throughout the island. Other non-governmental agencies are also supporting this effort with GATR Antenna Systems.

"Part of our company philosophy is to turn our success into the ability to help others in crisis situations, like the humanitarian aid efforts in Haiti;” states Paul Gierow, President of GATR Technologies Inc., “we are proud to participate in the effort and will continue to support it as long as we are able with personnel and equipment”. GATR also supplied communication support (antennas and personnel) in the relief efforts of Hurricanes Ike and Katrina, supported a medical mission throughout South America, as-well-as similar missions in Africa.

About the GATR Antenna System

The GATR Antenna System is a deployable inflatable satellite communication terminal serving the military, public safety and broadcast sectors. GATR’s unique inflatable design enables deployment of a 1.8, and 2.4 meter terminals in as few as two airline checkable cases, simplifying transportation and set-up, and making it ideal for first-in deployments, remote applications and contingency scenarios. The patented design combines the transmission power advantages of a large aperture / high-bandwidth antenna with the low weight and portability of a much smaller antenna.

About GATR Technologies

Incorporated in 2004, GATR Technologies develops and manufactures the inflatable satellite communications terminal. GATR’s unique, patented design enables deployment of large aperture satellite terminals packaged in as few as two airline checkable cases, making it ideal for first-in deployments, remote applications and contingency scenarios where transportation and space are limited (includes Military, Public Safety, and Broadcast markets). GATR also provides custom engineering services in these markets. More information on GATR can be found at www.gatr.com.
