This unique patented inflatable antenna design allows for a wider aperture (thereby reducing satellite transfer costs) without the added bulk and weight associated with rigid deployable systems. When deflated, the antennas are small enough to fit in the trunk of a small vehicle, and they can even be shipped (non-freight) using a carrier such as Federal Express, thereby reducing shipping costs. July 22, 2008, San Diego, California - GATR Technologies is participating in Golden Phoenix 2008 this week – a disaster recovery exercise to prepare both governmental and non-governmental agencies for a major disaster in the US, such as Katrina. This year’s scenario included a bioterrorist threat at the border of US/Mexico. GATR provided several inflatable satellite systems for data transfer, telephone and internet, as well as transmitting telemetry data from an Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) to the command center via satellite.
