Management Team

Roark McDonald

General Manager

Mr. McDonald has over 15 years of executive leadership and management in the domestic and international Aerospace/Defense market.  He has held leadership positions for multiple ACAT-1D programs, for both MDA and Army.   He is passionate about developing organizational leadership, and mentoring the next generation.  Mr. McDonald joined GATR in 2016 to provide strategic leadership for program management disciplines to ensure continued successful program execution and customer satisfaction as GATR expands with recent programs of record.  Mr. McDonald holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University.

Dr. Larry T. Lowe

Vice President Engineering

Dr. Lowe has over 18 years of experience serving different Department of Defense customers, including the Army, Navy, and Missile Defense Agency, primarily in the areas of radar and communications systems hardware development and performance analysis. He is an experienced technical leader with an enthusiastic devotion to solving technical problems, educating technical professionals, and building dependable relationships with customers and peers in the technical community. Over the past seven years, Dr. Lowe has been directly involved in the development of inflatable antenna technology and officially joined GATR Technologies as the Vice President of Engineering in August 2008.

Rob Evans

Vice President Business Development

Evans retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2012 and has more than 30 years of experience in business, strategy, command and control in addition to operational employment of air and space power. Before joining Cubic, Evans served in various leadership positions in strategy and business development at Northrop Grumman and CACI. Evans earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering technology from California State University; a Master of Science degree in computer information systems from Boston University; a Master of Military Arts and Science degree from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College; a Master of Strategic Studies degree from the Air War College; and a certificate in National Security Management from the Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School (F-15E), U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, U.S. Army School of Advanced Military Studies, Air War College and the Joint Forces Staff College.

Don Nalley

Vice President Finance

Mr. Nalley graduated with a BS with a major in Accounting in 1978 from the University of Alabama.  He started his accounting career with Price Waterhouse (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) where he worked first in the Audit and Compliance group before moving to a specialty in tax.  He left as a Tax Manager in 1984 when he moved to Huntsville and joined a young and growing CPA firm that later became Beason & Nalley and grew to one of the largest in the north Alabama.  During that time Mr. Nalley worked with many growth oriented businesses including many Government Contractors in both Huntsville and other parts of the U.S.  He pursued and obtained designations in Financial planning and Business Valuation including the CPA certificate in 1980, a Certified Financial Planner® practitioner in 1987 and a Certified Valuation Analyst in 1993.  He also received the Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation in the American Society of Appraisers in 2004 and the Accredited Business Valuation designation from the AICPA in 2007.  He has 38 years as a consultant in financial and business planning and has and continues to serve on multiple Boards of Companies and Nonprofit entities.  He began working with GATR when Mr. Gierow formed the business in 2004, moved to a more permanent position in early 2013, finally transitioning to CFO in February 2016.  Mr. Nalley also holds the title of VP-Finance of the Cubic Mission Solutions group of Cubic Corporation, the parent company to GATR Technologies.

Paul Gierow

VP Technology Cubic Mission Solutions

Mr. Gierow holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer. He spent his early career developing and managing projects for the nation's space industry. In 2004, he left an executive position in aerospace to found GATR Technologies. Here, he and long-time collaborator William Clayton designed the GATR inflatable satellite antenna. GATR Technologies, has been listed on Inc's 500/5000 list of the nation's fastest-growing private companies for the past four years, is a winner of a Popular Science invention award, and was recently named Technology Small Business of the Year by the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Gierow recently received the Russell Brown Executive Leadership Award and was named the Chamber's Entrepreneur of the Year. He currently holds four patents, with additional patents pending, related to deployable structures and has publishe

d more than 20 technical papers related to inflatable and deployable structures for terrestrial and space applications.

Jack Arnold

Director of Sales


Arnold retired from the U.S. Army in 2014 and began working for GATR Technologies in Huntsville, Alabama originally as its Army accounts manager. During his 29 years of service, his assignments included brigade command, repeated tours in the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), command of the Joint Communications Unit (JCU) and U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR). Arnold earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. In addition, he attended the Air War College, Air Command and Staff College, and holds two master’s degrees from the Air University in Alabama.


Donald 'Boag' Joice

Director Opertations

Mr. Joice has more than 33 years of experience in the fields of operations and materials management. He has expertise in procurement, inventory/property control, Materials Resource Planning (MRP), and Lean Manufacturing, as well as scheduling and supervision of production and materials personnel. At GATR, Mr. Joice oversees production, inventory management, purchasing/supply chain, and MRP, while recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, safe operating procedures, and working conditions.

Tom Honeycutt

Director Product Transition

Mr. Honeycutt is an executive with more than 34 years of experience in high volume electronic component design and manufacturing. His responsibilities have included business unit site management, global customer account management, R&D management, project management, and product engineering. Mr. Honeycutt has led development teams and projects with special emphasis on design for manufacturing, design for quality, and design to cost to achieve business goals and meet customers' expectations for cost, timing, and quality.

Dean Hudson

Director Marketing

With over 30 years in the technology, marketing, marketing communications, and management industries, Mr. Hudson has applied his expertise in such industries as electronics, mechanical CAD/CAM/CAE, simulation, computer hardware and software, consumer products, satellite antennas, medical, law, publishing, video, and robotics in both professional and community/non-profit organizations. As Director of Marketing, Mr. Hudson is responsible for the management of all marketing and marketing communication for GATR Technologies. He provides direction for the development of branding, advertising, collateral, trade shows, demonstrations, imagery, and Internet marketing.

Leigh Anne Parcus

Director Administration

Ms. Parcus has over 23 years of experience in finance and accounting. Areas of expertise include DCAA compliant accounting, financial management, payroll, contracts, information technology (IT), security, facilities, human resources, and travel. As Finance Manager at GATR, Ms. Parcus supervises and trains staff that support accounting, payroll, contracts, and human resources. Other responsibilities include creating budgets based on management prediction of sales and expenses, preparing various tax returns, and computing overhead, G&A, and billing rates.

Cyrus Wilson

Director Services and Support

Mr. Wilson has over 17 years of experience in telecommunications, information technology, and program management. He is also a former US Special Operations communicator who has a keen understanding of what our customers require to fulfill their mission. As the Director of Support Services, Mr. Wilson is responsible for leading and managing the GATR customer maintenance and support facility located in Fayetteville, NC. He also provides extensive support to GATR program management and contributes to company business development.
